Ozone grapes are the newest hybrid variety of E.G. Pavlovsky

The dream of all winegrowers is a rich and early harvest. Thanks to the works of E.G. Pavlovsky, many hybrids have appeared that meet their wishes. One of the breeding varieties - Ozone grapes - ripens even in cool climates, and delicious berries can be eaten from the middle of summer.

The best varieties of Pavlovsky grapes

Evgeny Georgievich Pavlovsky's grape varieties are successfully grown throughout Europe. A winegrower and breeder (formerly a miner) gave birth to resistant species that never cease to take first places at various exhibitions. Its hybrids are distinguished by the following properties:

  • winter hardiness (up to -25 ° С);
  • good immunity to diseases;
  • abundance of the harvest;
  • early maturation;
  • external aesthetics.

Video "Ozone Grapes: Botanical Description and Characteristics"

This video shows a hybrid table form of Ozone grapes selected by E.G. Pavlovsky.

Features of Ozone grapes

An early ripening hybrid that ripens very early is the result of crossing the same varieties as when Ali Baba was bred. However, thanks to Pavlovsky's efforts, Ozone is strikingly different from its relative.

Description of branches, brushes and berries

Ozone grapes are tall varieties. The dark green leaf blades are heavily dissected. Large berries (10–12 g), round or nipple-shaped, form not very dense cone-shaped clusters, the maximum weight of which is 1.5 kg. At the peak of ripening, they turn yellow, with firm pulp and a pleasant nutmeg aroma.

Large berries are round or nipple-shaped

Varietal characteristics

The grape is a hybrid of Talisman and K-81. Belongs to varieties with bisexual flowers, which mature in 105-115 days (early). The advantage of Ozone is the good marketability of the bunches, as well as the density of the berry, which does not crack in the cold.

After ripening, the crop retains its qualities for a long time, remaining unharvested. The variety has increased resistance to fungal infections and increased frost resistance (up to -23 ° C). Grapes are not attractive to wasps.

Yield indicators

Ozone is a high-yielding variety. The bunches are ready to be harvested starting from August 1st. Rationing of ovaries is a prerequisite for growing these grapes. Without yield control, the fruits become noticeably smaller, their taste is noticeably deteriorated. In order to have a lot of berries, flowers of both sexes must be present. You also need to closely monitor the full maturation of the vine.

Advantages and disadvantages

Like any other variety, Ozone is endowed with positive and negative qualities.

The benefits include:

  • large tasty fruits;
  • high tasting score;
  • clusters retain their presentation for a long time, remaining on the bushes;
  • berries are not prone to wasps or skin damage;
  • has immunity to diseases caused by fungi;
  • frost-resistant (up to -23 ° С).

Disadvantages of grapes:

  • the bush must be normalized, which affects the size of the bunches;
  • since Ozone was recently developed, properties not previously recorded by breeders may appear.

Breeder Care Recommendations

The varieties bred by Evgeny Pavlovsky are relatively young, and therefore it is not recommended to buy seedlings from hand - it is better to purchase them in a specialized nursery. Planting can be done in spring or autumn. In order for the seedlings to survive the winter well, they need to be protected from cold winds. There are no special requirements for the soil. It is better not to plant new grapes in the place of a newly dug bush.

It is important to give the ground a few years of rest before planting.

A seedling that will take root well and give a bountiful harvest in the future must meet the following conditions:

  • the minimum number of kidneys is 3 pcs.;
  • young grapes must have a branched root system;
  • the cut of the shoot should be green, and a whitish tint should be present on the roots.

Before planting, the cuttings must be soaked for a day in a special solution.

Grape growers who grow Pavlovsky varieties give high marks to frost-resistant hybrids. And for good reason! After all, grapes have exceptional varietal qualities.
