Beds of car tires were made for a long time, but somehow monotonously: they installed tires in the courtyard, poured soil inside, planted flowers. At best, they were still painted. The last few years, this idea has received a new development, now the tires are cut, turned inside out, made of them luxurious bowls or fantastic animals that miraculously keep the soil with plants inside.

Tires have proven to be an excellent material for making flower beds - affordable, durable, easy to handle. They perfectly tolerate any weather whims, remain attractive, of course, if they are painted correctly. This is usually done with oil, enamel paints or nitro paints; aerosol car paint fits well on clean rubber. An aerosol can allows you to cope with painting very quickly and efficiently.

To prevent the flower bed from overheating in the sun, the tires are covered with light paint, supplemented with some kind of pattern. Just do not need to apply a very thick layer of paint, it can lag behind in pieces after alternating exposure to frost and heat. The expanding capabilities of materials as different as paint and rubber do not match, a thin layer of paint responds to temperature changes along with rubber, and a thick one on its own. Colors are usually chosen in harmony with each other. But you need to remember that a flower bed includes such an obligatory, in itself beautiful element like plants. Therefore, before painting, you should think about the flowers or decorative grasses that will be planted: if the tires are brighter than the colors, then they will dominate.

Simple multi-colored flower beds

The simplest option for a flower bed is to simply put the tires in the right place, fill it with soil, plant flowers. It will be good to use tires of large diameter, especially if they are beautifully painted with bright colors. It is very important not to forget to make a drainage layer for the plants, otherwise their roots can rot without removing excess moisture. The tires can be put on top of each other, making a high flower bed or even a multi-tiered one. In this case, not only high and low flowers are used, but even ampelous, such as, for example, lobelia or ampelous versions of petunias and garden geraniums. If you just put several tires, painted in different colors, on top of each other in random order, you will already get a pretty flower bed.

Several tires can be dyed and stacked in such a way that they take the shape of teapot cups, for reliability you need to add a piece of pipe (teapot spout) and a curved metal band (cups and teapot handles).If you are not afraid to cut the tires, you can make flower beds in the form of flowers with petals. To do this, you need to take the tire, clean it of sand and dirt, wash it, apply a chalk drawing of petals on it around the entire circumference, cut it out with a sharp knife. The petals can be of any shape: round, triangular, quadrangular - it will still turn out beautifully. Now the most difficult thing is to turn out the petals.That's all, it's time to paint the workpiece, and then you can populate the plants.

If there is a whole wheel, and the owner is not afraid of hard physical work, then you can make such a flower bowl together with a support leg. To do this, in the same way as in the previous case, draw petals, cut out, turn the tire inside out. Only the cut rubber attached to the disc remains on it, forming the original stand. For the manufacture of flower beds, you do not need to choose newer tires, this is just the case when old worn tires turn out to be more convenient for processing. Only the sharpness of the knife and the imagination of the master matter.

Decorative and non-standard flower beds

Flowerbeds in the form of animals look very beautiful. It is not difficult to build a flowerbed - a turtle. In the old car tire, you need to make cuts where the paws are marked. From the second tire, you need to cut the outer side and cut it into 4 parts, they need to be inserted into the slots - here are the legs. A small tail is added at the back, but the head is easily obtained from a flat plastic bottle. Now you need to paint the turtle, put the soil inside and plant flowers that resemble the color of the shell in appearance.

Swan beds are made from cut tires. The marking on the tire will have to be done with a ruler, because the wings must be symmetrical. Cut out the contours with a sharp knife, turn the tire inside out. To keep the tail and neck in a given position, use a wire or fix it with a fishing line. White or black paint will complete the product. Such swans are used as independent land beds or even flowerpots.

Parrots or fantastic birds of paradise are made according to the same principle. They are hung from trees or special stands, vases with bright flowers are inserted into them. Such original creatures are able to cheer up even after the hardest work in the garden or in the garden.

And what kind of frog princess can be made without even cutting or twisting the tires! All you need is to put 3 tires (two in the base, one at the top), build eyes on the top, paint all three in a joyful green, add a sly smile on the top tire. And the chosen flowers should complete the look. Robots, hedgehogs, snakes and dragons, donkeys with carts, fabulous unicorns and zebras - all this is made from old car tires. Each master, relying on well-known technologies and examples, creates something of his own - this search, which inspires imagination, brings pleasure in itself, and the resulting products delight and inspire others.

Painting recommendations

Most often, people paint their rubber tires only on the outside, but it is advisable to also process the upper quarter of the inside, this will not only give the flower bed a more attractive look, but also protect the material from the effects of weather.

Before painting, the rubber must be degreased with acetone or white spirit, then a thin layer of white paint should be applied, and the main color should be applied over it. Then even the old cracked rubber will take the color well, and it will hold on for a long time. It is very convenient to use aerosol cans: the paint lays down in a thin layer, at the same time it perfectly penetrates into all cracks. Even if the master does not know how to draw, stencils can be used, then any pattern will be on the shoulder.
