Site preparation

It is important to fertilize the soil, nourish it with organic compounds. Add compost or humus to the ground. Peat, loam, sand are added to top dressing.

Remember that choosing a site for planting garlic is an important process. It is advisable to root this crop where zucchini, pumpkin and legumes were grown last season. Immediately before planting a vegetable, water the beds with a solution of coarse salt - 1 glass per bucket of water. This watering will prevent pest infestation.

Separate slices

Before planting the plant, carefully inspect the heads, select the largest and take strong slices. In the garden, make furrows 3–5 cm deep. The distance between the slices is 10 cm. Stick them into the furrows, leaving the upper part above ground level. It is important to root the garlic upside down - this is the place where the cloves are held together, hence the root grows.

Now cover the cloves of garlic with earth, and from above, grind them with sawdust or sand, otherwise, when watering, water will fall directly on them, which is undesirable. Sand is poured into an empty hole before rooting the garlic cloves.

Whole heads

The "lazy" method of planting crops is also considered popular. To do this, do not peel the heads of garlic or divide them into cloves. Make furrows in the ground and then root the plant heads to a depth of 15 cm. Before planting, it is important to fertilize the soil: garlic needs nutrients, especially when whole heads are rooting. It is better to prefer compost for feeding the plant.

Select the planting material carefully: it is important that the garlic heads are large.

At the same time, peel off the top layers of the husk from them until the teeth appear. After tamping the garlic into the hole, sprinkle it with earth and water liberally. Maintain a distance of 25-30 cm between the holes.

With a tube

To plant a plant using this method, you will need a metal tube with a diameter greater than the size of the garlic heads. Lower the attachment into the soil. When you get it, you will see that a portion of the earth has lingered inside. Fill the hole you made with the nutrient compound.Root the head of garlic, then sprinkle with the earth left in the metal tube.
