If we talk about the cherry variety Nadezhda, then it appeared thanks to the work of specialists from the Rossoshan Experimental Gardening Station named after I. AND I. Voronchikhina, where pollination of an excellent cherry variety, called Griot Ostheimsky, was carried out with a combination of pollen of two excellent cherry varieties - Likernaya and Severnaya. The new fruit tree variety was taken in 1995 for a special state test of the qualities and properties of the culture in the Central Black Earth Region.

This fruit tree is large in size and can reach a height of about 6 meters. It has a beautiful dense crown that has a certain pyramidal shape. The bark is clearly visible on the trunk, which has a characteristic dark gray or black-gray color, there are separate cracks on the trunk. If we talk about lenticels, then in this cherry they are quite narrow, they can be both small and large in size.

Young trees are distinguished by longitudinal cracks on the surface of the trunk, while the old bark is gray, and the young is born silvery with a brown tint. Cherry variety with the beautiful name Nadezhda has greenish-brown shoots, their number is quite large, and convex glands can be seen on the surface. Vegetative buds are large, ovoid, somewhat oblong, can reach a length of about 6 mm, have a sharp protruding apex. Generative buds are similar to vegetative ones, their shape is the same, only they are slightly smaller in size. They differ from vegetative ones with a rounded top.

The width of the leaf plate can be about 4 - 6 cm if the shoots are about a year old, and they reach 10 cm in length. The shape of the plate can vary over a wide range - from oval to ovoid. The serration of the leaves is double-toothed, more often the plates are dull, less often they have a certain luster and a characteristic green color. The petiole of this cherry variety is very short, bare from below, and from above it has a small edge, it can be up to 20 mm in size. It has an interesting pinkish anthocyanin coloration.

The flowers of this fruit tree are large, at least two of them appear in each inflorescence, they have a beautiful white color, and at the end of the flowering period they are also interspersed with pink spots. The petals of cherry blossoms of this variety are not closed, resemble a spoon in shape, the length of the stamens can be about 12 mm, and the pistil with an ovary grows up to 15 mm. The calyx has a tube shaped like a bell, and the sepals have small denticles, their shape is almost entire.

An interesting fact is that at the end of flowering, the tubes of the cups of this tree are slightly bent from the base and almost lose their original color.

The flowering period of this beautiful cherry variety falls on the early stages, since the tree itself is sterile, it is pollinated with such varieties as Lada, Black large, Kent.

The description of the fruits of this excellent regionalized cherry variety has its own characteristics.If we talk about the size of the berries, then they grow quite large and can have a weight of about 5.8, practically up to 6 g, their width will be about 24 mm, the height indicator is 20 mm, and the fruit can form up to 23 mm in thickness. The fruits of Nadezhda have a dark red skin color, and are usually round in shape. According to the biochemical composition, such indicators can be called - the presence of sugars in fruits up to about 14%, dry soluble substances - up to 16, 2%, 0, 15% of dyes and tannins, as well as about 1.6% of titratable acids.Two cherries on a branch

The pulp of the fruit during the tasting by the experts received a high rating of 4, 5 points. It is characterized by a dark red color, the taste of the berry is not tart, has a pleasant sourness and aroma. If we talk about the stalk, then it is thick, the length is about 40 mm, it helps to separate the berry well. Inside the fruit, a small round bone is found, the base of which is slightly beveled, not very well separated from the fruit pulp, and has a standard brown color. In the course of a number of studies and tasting by competent persons, the technological qualities of the fruits were checked, which received 4, 6 points for appearance, 4, 2 - for taste, and compotes were rated at 4, 6 points.

Garden trees enter the fruiting period only 4 years after planting, but at the same time the fruits ripen on them in the middle time frame, and the harvest pleases with an abundance. In the south of the Central Black Earth Region, this cherry variety gives a harvest in late June - early July. The average yield for four years here was 16.4 kg per tree.
